Composer
As a composer, Seven Sky utilizes a variety of styles and textures to weave soundscapes and tell stories. By the age of 18 he had been commissioned by the Twin Heroes Summer Festival (2016), Atlantic Music Festival (2017), Siskiyou Saxophone Orchestra (2018), and others, finding a passion for collaborating with other instrumentalists.
Early Work Highlights
Upon moving to Seattle in late 2018, Seven began to delve into production, tapping into his potential for scoring film and video games.
In 2020, Seven was a semi-finalist for MoPOP's Sound Off!, a battle of the bands for artists age 21 and under held in the 700-capacity Sky Church. There, he premiered a collection of new 'dramatic jazz' works, playing a multitude of instruments (saxophone, keys, EWI, and more) over self-produced tracks
After his solo performance, Seven was reminded of his passion for engaging with other creatives, instrumentalists, and singers. His next live performance, in 2023 after COVID-19 precautions had relaxed, would feature his 9-piece
brass band comprised of some of Seattle's most exciting talent at the Vera Project performing his compositions whose genres spanned from Latin jazz to pseudo-operatic (the former is shown below).
His ensemble would go on to perform at Capitol Hill Block Party later that year.
Utilizing his skills and passion for composing for and rallying others, Seven recognizes the unique position he's in to support local artists by giving them work while bringing his own music to life.
